Xenical
Medical treatment of obesity focuses on lifestyle
changes such as eating less and increasing activity
level. There are slimming drugs that can promote
weight loss.
Most slimming pills that promote weight loss
work by suppressing the appetite. Some diet pills
used to lose weight in the past have been shown
to be unsafe and are no longer available. The
newer appetite-suppressing medications are thought
to be safe, but they do have side effects and
may interact with certain other drugs.
Xenical is a gastrointestinal lipase inhibitor
used to treat weight loss problems.
Some conditions may interact with Xenical. Cyclosporine
should be taken at least 2 hours before or after
orlistat to assure maximum absorption of the cyclosporine
into your bloodstream. Use of Xenical
is not recommended if you have a history of malabsorption
syndrome or gallbladder conditions.
Follow the directions for using Xenical provided
by your doctor. Ask your doctor about any questions
that you may have about Xenical. Store Xenical at
room temperature, in a cool dark location.
Since Xenical blocks about one third of the fat
in the food you eat.
Xenical shouldn’t be taken if you are pregnant,
nursing, have food absorption problems or reduced
bile flow.
Xenical
reduces the absorption of some vitamins. Take
a daily multivitamin.
